History    Hemlock Ink was formed in early 2003 by Damon Leibert and Neal Cadogan, two Boston musicians, who were looking to make t-shirts for their band. After becoming frustrated with local screen printers, the two invested in a small press, and began printing themselves. Altough the process was long and troublesome, the two entreupeunors finally got the hang of it. In the following weeks their peers on the music scene saw the quality that Neal and Damon were creating, and inquired about having shirts of their own produced. The boys happily obliged, word got out, and soon the bars and clubs that hosted the bands wanted to know who to see about having their own t-shirts printed. As the snowball effect took hold, Damon and Neal decided to invest themselves fully into the business. New equipment was purchased, new systems for production were put into place, and the company was branded "Hemlock Ink". Finally December found Hemlock Ink leaving it's basement beginnings and moving into a full production facility right smack dab in the heart of Union Square, Somerville. April saw the web launch of Hemlock online. Our client base has predominately spread through word of mouth, which speaks volumes of the quality and service which we are so proud of. Hemlock Ink remains at it's roots, owned and operated by the two who started it, printing, designing, and talking with clients, and somehow still enjoying a full time career in music.
